The Friday evening aperitif/get-together is one of LA REINE's highlights, featuring drinks, snacks, a host, and a great atmosphere. Connect with like-minded people and forge new friendships.The get-together will take place from 18:30 to 19:30 in our partner hotel Stadt Freiburg ****sup, Breisacherstrasse 84b, Freiburg.Registration as part of the event registration (no extra charge).

The route schedule with exact opening and closing times of all refreshment points and timing stations will be published on the route website a few days before the event.

Question 3

Finisher party

Accepted Answer

The finisher's party with the awards ceremony takes place on Saturday after the races. There will be free food (voucher), drinks (voucher), a DJ, and a party.Accompanying persons may participate and provide their own meals at their own expense.The finisher's party takes place right next to the finish line in the Historical Department Store (Münsterplatz Freiburg).At the finish line/finisher's party, there will be a parc fermé for racing bikes. This area is simply fenced, and we will have someone monitoring the entrances and exits. However, parking your racing bike is at your own risk; we accept no liability for parked bikes.

Personal photo set

All participants will receive a free, high-quality digital photo set taken by professional photographers at several locations along the route. The download link will be published on the website on the day of the event.

Question 5

baggage service

Accepted Answer

All participants will receive a bag from the city of Freiburg along with their race numbers. This bag can be filled as desired (e.g., with regular shoes for the finisher's party, a change of clothes, etc.) and handed in to the organizer at the starting area.You must attach a label with your race number to your bag. You will receive this label along with your race number (tear-off label "BAG" on your back number).The bag will then be transported to the destination and can be picked up there by the participants.

The GPX data for both routes will be posted on the website the evening before the event.This is not possible in advance, as there may be short-term deviations due to construction sites, etc.

Rennabbruch/Rückführung

Wer sich entscheidet, das Rennen aus welchen Gründen auch immer abzubrechen (Ermüdung, Verletzung, Panne etc.), ist selber für eine geeignete Rückführung verantwortlich (ÖV, Taxi, Mobilisierung Angehöriger etc.).Allenfalls bietet auch einer unserer Servicewagen oder der Besenwagen eine Mitfahrgelegenheit. Allerdings a) ohne Gewähr und b) ist mit einer sehr langsamen Rückfahrt zu rechnen (mehrere Stunden), da sowohl Service-, als auch Besenwagen weiter ganz normal ihre Aufgaben erledigen werden.Der Veranstalter wird sich in keinem Fall um die Rückführung einer einzelnen Teilnehmerin kümmern.

Race classification

The classification is based on the times driven in the timed sectors. The times of the 3 special stages (Medio Fondo) or 6 special stages (Gran Fondo) are added together.The timing starts automatically as the vehicle rolls through (therefore, it is NOT necessary to stop).There is one ranking each for the Medio Fondo 100 km route and the Gran Fondo 170 km route (no class rankings based on age or similar).The final standings will be published after the race has finished.The total time traveled from start to finish is NEITHER MEASURED NOR VALUED (so it is worthwhile to really enjoy the refreshment stations, beautiful views, etc. outside of the timed sections).The top 10 in each category will receive a trophy. The trophies will be presented in person at the awards ceremony. Post-event delivery of trophies is not possible.

Difficulty level of the routes

The Gran Fondo route, at 170 km and over 2000 meters of elevation gain, is very demanding. It's roughly equivalent to a challenging stage of the Tour de France Femmes. Please don't be misled by the numbers alone. Finishers need excellent fitness, a good average speed, and strong road bike handling skills.The Medio Fondo route is less challenging, but it's no walk in the park either. 100km is always a significant distance. However, due to the relatively low elevation gain, the Medio Fondo is also manageable for beginners (provided they have a good level of fitness); just take your time.

Service vehicle

Three neutral service vehicles will be deployed along the routes to assist participants with technical problems. This is an exceptional service provided by LA REINE, one not typically offered at road cycling events.The service vehicles can be requested by phone from the operations manager: 📞 tba. However, due to the very different speeds of the participants and the long route, longer waiting times should be expected.The service vehicle is provided free of charge. Any replacement parts must be paid for on site (cash only).Private service vehicles of individual participants are PROHIBITED on the routes.

Awards ceremony & prizes

Takes place as part of the finisher's party on Saturday. Awards ceremony for the Medio Fondo at approximately 3:00 PM. Awards ceremony for the Gran Fondo at approximately 5:00 PM.In both categories, the top ten finishers will be honored with a trophy.

You can find your personal starting number on the starting list on our website here.Please remember this number for when you pick up your race number.The starting numbers are sorted numerically, NOT alphabetically by name.Anyone who doesn't know the number will be sent back to look it up on the notice board and will then have to queue again.

Change Route

When registering, you must choose one of the two routes. This helps us plan the aid stations with as little food waste as possible.The route choice is not binding. You can decide at the start or at the beginning of the ride whether you want to do the 100 km Medio Fondo or the longer 170 km Gran Fondo. Depending on your fitness level, the weather, etc.This also applies to the race category: the timing system recognizes which route you actually drove.Attention Gran Fondo: If you haven't arrived at the Bad Krozingen refreshment station by 1:30 PM at the latest , you probably won't be able to complete the long stretch before the sweep vehicle . This means you'll suddenly have NO signs and NO refreshment stations. For this eventuality, we've created a shortcut route that will take you from the Bad Krozingen refreshment station to the finish line on the Schlossberg in Freiburg via the fastest and most convenient route – it will be published as a GPX file on the route page the evening before.

Weather

The event will take place regardless of the weather (including rain, snowfall, etc.).Please note that the weather can change very quickly at the end of September - be sure to equip yourself with suitable clothing.Especially descents on small, often somewhat dirty roads in the vineyards can pose a particular challenge in the rain (braking & slipping). Prepare for this situation in your training for LA REINE.
