Aperitif on Friday
The Friday evening Aperitif / Get-Together is one of the highlights of LA REINE. There will be free drinks, snacks, a DJ, and great vibes. It's the perfect chance to connect with like-minded people and make new friends.
The aperitif takes place on Friday at 6:30 PM at Hotel HUUS Gstaad.

Baggage storage
At Hotel HUUS Gstaad, participants have the option to store bags or luggage during the ride. However, this area is not supervised, and storage is at the participants' own risk.
Bicycles authorized
Road bikes and gravel bikes are allowed.
For participants without time keeping, e-bikes are permitted, but only e-road bikes and e-gravel bikes (no e-mountain bikes, e-touring bikes, or similar).

Cabins & showers
Due to low demand in previous editions, none will be available.
Change of parcours
When registering, you need to choose one of the two routes. This helps us plan the refreshment stations with minimal food waste.
However, your choice of route is not binding. You can still decide during the ride whether to go for the 90 km Medio Fondo or the longer 140 km Gran Fondo, depending on your form, the weather, etc.
This also applies to the race category: the timing system will automatically detect which route you actually rode.
Important for the Gran Fondo: If you have NOT reached the following points by the specified times:
you likely won’t be able to finish the long route ahead of the broom wagon. This means you’ll suddenly have NO MORE SIGNS and NO MORE REFRESHMENT STATIONS. In this case, we strongly recommend switching to the Medio Fondo route.

Companions for Aperitif & Finisher Party
The aperitif and finisher party are free for participants. Tickets for accompanying guests can be purchased at the event desk on-site.
Danger points
Attention: No Warning for Hazardous Areas!!!
The routes may have various hazards such as sharp turns, gravel sections, potholes, dirt, construction sites, etc. These can also appear suddenly, especially behind blind corners.
NONE OF THESE HAZARDS WILL BE MARKED BY US.
It is the sole responsibility of each participant to be constantly prepared for unexpected dangers and to adjust their speed accordingly.
Please be reminded once again that the roads are NOT CLOSED — even in the timed sections — meaning other road users may appear at any time… including large tractors or combine harvesters during fast descents on narrow mountain roads.

Difficulty level of parcours
The Gran Fondo route, with 140 km and 3000 meters of elevation gain, is very challenging. It’s comparable to the queen stage of the Tour de France Femmes. Don’t be fooled by the numbers: finishing requires excellent fitness, ability to stand long climbs, a strong average speed, and solid bike-handling skills.
The Medio Fondo route is less demanding, but it’s no coffee ride. Most of the elevation gain happens in the early kilometers before the first refreshment station. After that, the route is relatively straightforward, making the Medio Fondo achievable for beginners — just take your time.

In case of an emergency, be sure to call the official national emergency number 144.

Price giving ceremony & trophies
The awards ceremony will take place during the finisher party on Saturday, around 6:30 PM at Hotel HUUS Gstaad. The top ten finishers in both categories will be honored with a trophy.
Race classification
The rankings will be determined based on the times recorded in the timed sections. For the Medio Fondo, the times from 2 timed sections will be added together, and for the Gran Fondo, the times from 3 timed sections will be combined.
The timing starts automatically and on the move as you pass through the start of each timed section (there's no need to stop).
There will be a ranking for the 90 km Medio Fondo route and a ranking for the 140 km Gran Fondo route (no age or other category-based rankings).
The final standings will be published after the course closes.
The total time from start to finish WILL NEITHER BE RECORDED NOR RANKED (so take the time to fully enjoy the refreshment stations, scenic views, etc., outside the timed sections).
The top 10 in each ranking will receive a trophy. Trophies will be presented in person at the awards ceremony. Trophies will not be sent by mail.

Refund of registration fee
The registration for LA REINE is final, and the participation fee is non-refundable under any conditions, including a doctor’s note or similar reasons. Participation is non-transferable and cannot be assigned to another individual.
Return after abandonment
Anyone who decides to withdraw from the race, for any reason (fatigue, injury, mechanical issues, etc.), is responsible for arranging their own transportation back.
From Jaun to Saanen/Gstaad, the route is relatively well connected by public transport: Online planner & booking public transport
There are Taxis in Bulle and Gstaad
It’s possible that one of our support cars or the broom wagon might offer a ride. However, a) this is not guaranteed, and b) the return trip could be very slow (several hours), as both the support cars and broom wagon will continue to perform their regular duties.
The organizer will not arrange transportation for individual participants under any circumstances.

Ride schedules
The ride schedules with exact opening and closing times for all refreshment stations and timing points will be published about 1 month before the event. For reference, you can find the tables of a previous edition here: Gran Fondo | Medio Fondo.
Service cars
There are three neutral service vehicles on the routes, providing technical support to participants in case of mechanical issues. This is an exceptional service offered by LA REINE, which is not typically provided at road cycling events.
The service vehicles can be requested by calling the operations manager at 📞 078 824 15 11. However, due to the varied speeds of participants and the length of the route, longer wait times should be expected.
The service provided by the vehicles is free of charge. Any necessary replacement parts must be paid for on the spot (cash or Twint only).
Private support vehicles for individual participants are strictly PROHIBITED on the routes.

Signposting of parcours
The routes are fully signposted. The signage is clear and easy to follow, but not designed for professional race speeds.
As a general rule: if there’s no sign, continue straight ahead!

Traffic
The routes mostly run on small, low-traffic roads.
However, the roads are not closed, and there are a few short connecting sections on cantonal roads. Participants must follow traffic rules at all times, even in timed sections.
You should always expect other road users, including large agricultural vehicles, and adjust your riding accordingly.

Waste disposal
Every participant has to take care of their own trash, even small items like gel wrappers, and bring it to the nearest waste bin. There are trash bags available at the refreshment stations. Anyone caught littering will be immediately disqualified from the event.
Weather
The event will take place in all weather conditions (even in rain, snow, etc.).
Please note that the weather in the mountains can change rapidly, and the route passes through three to four different weather zones. For weather forecasts, please check: Gstaad, Jaun, Bulle, Les Mosses.
Make sure to equip yourself with appropriate clothing.
In particular, descents on small, often slightly dirty mountain roads can be especially challenging in the rain (braking & slipping). Be sure to prepare for these conditions during your training for LA REINE.
